The Weekender: A Little Off the Top Please

January 14, 2013

This past weekend I got my hair cut. I never know what I want from a haircut. I have dreams of soft flowing waves (here) and deceitfully effortless messy buns

Not to mention my delusions about being able to create a prim bun perfectly pinned on my crown.

I go through this about every 2 years. I optimistically grow my hair and cut it off.

my long hair

Here I am with longish hair (Norrie is in a new gift comma in this pic) on my best day. Nothing like my aspirations right?! And because of that I cut off all my hard work and end up with a lovely new do.

Goal #53 on my 101 in 1001 is to “get a cool haircut.” I’m not sure this is it. I hope to find a little more “wow” in me. After all it’s only hair, it’ll grow back. If you want to see what I’m looking at for inspirational hair, check out Hair Do, my pinterest board. And to help out my stylist with my next hair cut, I also started a Hair Don’t board. It was her idea, although I think she was joking…

What’s the most dramatic hair cut you’ve had??

I haven’t been to TH in 6 years. I needed a change, you know how it gets sometimes. I’m going to Pump Salon in Rookwood. You should too. I see Alice and I gave her 0 direction in my cut and color (poor girl, I’m so indecisive with hair now). But she is amazing, she totally knows what’ll look good on my head ;)

yep, i know what you mean.i used to go to pump, but my favorite left then i just never found another that i liked enough to go back. Jamie Cole is a manager there. keep an eye out for her. I was going to younique in mt lookout…really liked them. then we moved and it became a hassle. The last time i went to Peter and Co in harpers point…think i finally found someone i’ll go back to.

Remember when I chopped my hair off to two inches long in 10th grade? Easiest do I’ve ever had!

Of course I remember! That was such a cute cut!

You look great. I actually like you in hair this length. I personally hate this topic. I feel like I have not been able to find the right person. It starts out promising, and then it just feels wrong.

Thank you so much! For some odd reason I feel obligated to have long hair, when I don’t think it really works on me. It took me 5 years and 4 different salons to find my current stylest. It’s tough to find someone you want to spend a couple hours talking to that can also understand and implement your style.

I always get so excited to get my hair cut and I’m not sure I’ve ever been totally satisfied after I go through with it. Kind of sad haha. Or I just set my expectations too high! Dang Pinterest. But I love your hair! It looks great – totally wish I could pull off a shorter look!

    go for the glam

I hear ya with the “great expectations” I honestly believe I should be able to have beautiful flawless hair with out doing a thing to it. Clearly I’m delusional!

I think your hair looks great! I’m always trying to mix mine up, but I’ve definitely landed on styles I have hated once or twice!

Thank you Alyssa! I feel like I do the same 2 cuts every 2 yrs. (I’m much too chicken to go super short like Emma Watson)

Oh, I love that cut! It’s super cute – but edgy too – a good combination! I’m about to dye my hair dark brown after years and years of being super blonde – I’m nervous!

Thank you! You’re such a sweetie-pie. I’m totally excited for you and your hair!! I love drastic changes like that, so much fun! I think it’ll look great!

I love you with short hair! Looks adorable and you pull it off wonderfully. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, I’m so happy to have found yours in return. The most dramatic hair cut I got was completely by accident. The hair dresser butchered my long locks and left a chunk on one side of my head like 4 inches shorter than the rest…..awful. Taught me to never use a ‘junior’ stylist again to try and save a few bucks!

Thanks Tiffany! Shocker!! I can’t believe someone would make such a large mistake! Yikes!
