My little baby girl turns ONE next month! Has nearly one year passed?? I feel like I haven’t changed much, but she has grown leaps and bounds! She’s gone through at least 4 full wardrobe changes, I wish I got 4 new wardrobes in a year. Food can be served “as is” no need for pureeing. The toothless grin has given way to 8 pearly whites so far. And communication beyond crying has begun! Hallelujah!!
With the Big O-N-E looming on the horizon, I’ve been on the lookout for cute party themes. I’ve also been debating on whether to do an actual “theme” like an Elmo Party (it’s not going to be an Elmo Party) or merely a color coordinated party. She is starting to recognize characters and smile/laugh at them, so it may be fun for her to have something to identify. FYI, this is my first go at a child’s birthday party. I find adults to be much easier, a little cake and a lot of booze and everyone’s happy! But, what do you do for a one year old??
If you have been to, or thrown a child’s 1st birthday party, I’d love to hear about it!! What went on? Theme? No theme? Games? Music? Got some advice? Lay it on me!
In the mean time, I’ve been looking at Kara’s Party Ideas for inspiration. She has done so many adorable parties, and a lot of the party materials are for sale on her shop’s site. Here are a few just to get you in the party mood.
As far as a color theme goes, her Chevron Print Sesame Street 2nd Birthday Party has all of them! It’s so fun and cheerful. It just screams child’s birthday.
I don’t know about you, but I LOVED Strawberry Shortcake as a child, in fact either I or my big sis had a Strawberry Shortcake themed party, I may just have to dig up some pics to show you. The Vintage Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party is so sweet, pun intended, and classic.
Nothing says girl like pink! This Preppy Girly Nautical 1st Birthday Party won’t really work for Norrie since we live completely landlocked and it’s definitely autumn, not summer. But, it’s so cute I had to include it anyway. Besides, I can always change it to a fall color palette and use leaves instead of anchors.
So now you know what I’ll be working on for the next month! And please, if you have and advice, I’d love to hear! Just leave me a comment, I’d love to chat!
I hope these parties have gotten you in a festive mood for the week. Happy Monday all!
